News | Architecture Space vs Art of Exhibition: How to Play a Seamless integration for OCN Demo Center
2010.01.28
For the past few days. with efforts by both SKYLINE and the clients, OCN's NGB Deomo Center is under fast and smooth construction. The Demo Center is planned to be completed by March 5, and will be an important platform to showcase NGB businesses for Shanghai, and even nationwide. Skyline, with its accuate understanding of client's requirements, has won the design competition with the design proposal of simple. modern and elgent style.
As "Rome is not built in a day", the design of the Decom Center also went through several rounds of modification. To satisfy both the overall visual effects and Client's specific requirements, the TEAM went to check the site several times. Phasal results differed dramatically, just as the Chinese saying goes, "pull one hair and you move the whole body". However all these setbacks deserves, as he final result turned out to be a nice interpretation of space and art. |

"The real challenge is how to deal with the oval ceiling", said John Lee, the chief designer. "The client requires the ceiling should stay untouched, and please remember the ceiling itself has three different levels." Besides a key item of the Demo Center is a panacinema, which requires a radius of at least 4.5 meters. A TP(Telepresence) Room almost became the last straw. But thanks god, the client finally agreed not to let it in. |
The Panecinema is finally decided to locate at the center of the room, with a curved front and back sides, and open overhead without touching the ceiling. This not only makes the panecinema looks nice, but more important it meets the fire-protection requirement. The ceiling now looks as if designed for the panecinema, if you overlook it from inside.

As the chief designer, John has a high sense of quality, and he stresses at every meeting that the quality concept should be implemented in every link of realization. The OCN's Demo Center project is under urgent but smooth construction. This sense of high quality exhibition, as we believe, will lead SKYLINE to even higher and farther vision… |
